During the World Cup 2019, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar had termed Ravindra Jadeja as a ‘bits and pieces’ player which created a huge controversy last year during the World Cup. However, that incident and an unwanted argument with Harsha Bhogle during India’s home season led to Manjrekar getting axed from BCCI’s commentary panel.

More often than not, Manjrekar has been reminded of the fans about his comment on Jadeja. On Friday, one of the Twitter users, quoted Sanjay Manjrekar’s tweet on CSK and MS Dhoni and called him a bits and pieces commentator and took a hilarious dig at him for his comment last year.

However, Mankrekar didn’t lose his cool as he came up with an apt response for this as he stated that he is pure commentator and explained the meaning of bits and pieces. He also suggested the fan to call him a bad commentator if he doesn’t like him. “No sir, I am a pure commentator. Bits and pieces are those who do little bit of this and little bit of that. So if you don’t like me,say bad commentator, not bits and pieces”.

After a lot of banters on Twitter last year and moreover, after a heated conversation with Harsha Bhogle while their conversation during the Pink Ball Test, BCCI had decided to remove Sanjay Manjrekar from the commentary panel. However, ahead of the IPL 202o, the former cricketer wrote multiple emails to the Indian board request him to reinstate in the panel and also assured them of working according to their guidelines.

But all his efforts went in vain as his name went missing when the commentators’ list for the 13th edition of the cash-rich league was announced. Recently, when asked about the same, Manjrekar refused to comment on the matter and has continued to analyze the ongoing IPL for a popular cricket website.
