Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar opined that the Indian stalwart, Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have a good chance of winning their first IPL title in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Manjrekar reckons the Bangalore-based franchise has a strong bowling attack this season and if skipper Faf du Plessis has a good season with the bat, RCB would fare well.
Virat Kohli, who is back in form, is still looking for his first IPL title and is crucial to his team’s success this season. After hitting his first international ton since 2019 in the T20 Asia Cup last year, the batting stalwart has returned to his ferocious best across all formats.
After falling for three golden ducks in the previous edition, Virat Kohli bounced back to help his team reach the final four. Bangalore, under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis, will rely on Kohli and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell to win the coveted trophy.

During a chat with ESPNCricinfo, Sanjay Manjrekar said, “Yes, I feel Virat Kohli’s dream of winning the trophy will come true this time. They have a wonderful bowling attack. If Faf du Plessis scores runs, they will have a great chance.”
Along with RCB, Sanjay Manjrekar identified the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Rajasthan Royals (RR) as the top contenders to reach the playoffs in this year’s cash-rich league. Earlier, Virat Kohli had showered praises on the fan base of RCB, saying there is a pure connection between fans and RCB players, insisting that they are the best fans in the world.

During a chat on RCB podcast, Virat Kohli said, “It is phenomenal what this franchise and this fan base has done over the years because these two guys are from different countries and look at what amount of love they’ve received and accepted them as their own. This is beyond the game, this is beyond what we do on the field. This is pure connect that’s why we mean it when we say that we have the best fans in the world. This is what they do to the players.”
