The young wicket-keeper batsman, Sanju Samson has been going through a purple patch in his career. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) star has been in stunning form with the bat in the ongoing IPL. In the first two matches for his side, he scored whirlwind fifties and helped the Royals beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Sanju Samson took the catch on the last ball of the 18th over bowled by Tom Curran to end the 34-run partnership between the Australia pacer and Eoin Morgan. And in the process, he nearly suffered a nasty head injury as his head banged the ground hard while taking the catch.

Curran’s short delivery was completely mist-time by Cummins towards deep backward square leg. Samson initially misjudged the catch as he overran it but did well to take the catch while leaping. And in the process, he failed to land well before hitting his head onto the ground. Fortunately, he was able to stand up and field for the rest of the innings.
