Star India wicketkeeper Sanju Samson once again showcased his brilliance, this time alongside his brother Saly Viswanath, in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL). Days after earning a call-up for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, Samson produced a stunning piece of fielding that immediately made headlines.

Playing for the Kochi Blue Tigers, Samson combined with Saly to dismiss Subin S off the very first delivery of the match at the Greenfield International Stadium. Leading the side, Saly opened the bowling with a classic outswinger, which Subin drove towards mid-off.
Positioned inside the circle, Sanju moved swiftly to his left, collected the ball cleanly, and fired in a sharp throw. Saly, waiting at the non-striker’s end, gathered it calmly and dislodged the bails to complete a brilliant run-out.

Sanju didn’t stop there. He also grabbed a fine catch later in the innings, while Saly bowled a tight spell of 2-0-8-0 to restrict the Adani Trivandrum Royals to just 97 runs.

During the chase, Saly led from the front with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 50 off just 30 balls, guiding Kochi to victory with more than eight overs to spare. Their next clash will be against Mohammed Azharuddeen’s Alleppey Ripples.

While Samson’s domestic heroics continue to impress, his place in India’s Asia Cup XI remains uncertain. With Shubman Gill named vice-captain and expected to open alongside Abhishek Sharma, Samson could miss out. If that happens, Jitesh Sharma may take over the wicketkeeping duties.
Regardless, Samson’s recent performances underline his value as both a dependable keeper and a dynamic batter, keeping the selection debate alive as India prepares for the Asia Cup challenge.
