Sanju Samson was named India’s Impact Player after an all-round performance that helped the Men in Blue edge past Sri Lanka in a thrilling Super Over finish during the final Super 4 game of the Asia Cup 2025. Batting at No. 5, Samson scored a rapid 39 off 23 balls, including some breathtaking sixes, while also effecting a key stumping to dismiss set opener Kusal Perera.

The stumping came off Varun Chakravarthy’s clever short delivery that lured Perera out of his crease. Samson’s quick hands ensured the batter was dismissed, providing India with a crucial breakthrough and tilting the momentum in their favour. Earlier, Samson had gained confidence with his innings, which followed Abhishek Sharma’s explosive 31-ball 61, setting the stage for a competitive total.
