The latest owner of the Orange cap in the IPL Sanju Samson described K.Gowtham’s innings against Mumbai as a lifetime experience. In the match played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals trumped Mumbai Indians by 3 wickets to register their second win. K.Gowtham who came in to bat late, played a heroic knock of 33*(11) to take RR beyond the finishing line.

When Gowtham walked in to bat, RR needed 42 runs from 17 balls to win. They had been rocked by Mumbai Indians who had just struck thrice in seven balls. With Bumrah taking a brace and Mustafizur taking one, Mumbai were firm favorites to take the game. Gowtham had other plans though, he blasted the bowling all around the field to grab a sensational win for Rajasthan. The innings included two sixes and four fours.

Before Gowtham, it was Sanju Samson who with his knock of 52 again earned the coveted Orange cap. Speaking about Gowtham’s knock, Samson said,”Gowtham was amazing. It is a lifetime experience for him and also for us.”
“I also feel K Gowtham was the man of the match but everyone’s contribution is important. Archer too had contributed by taking three wickets and also hitting a few boundaries. I cannot comment on the selection of the man of the match,” Samson added.

Sanju Samson led Royals’ assault.

Kerala boy also regretted at not being able to finish off the match himself. He said,”I think I should have finished it off. They also bowled well but these matches are finished like that only and it was Gowtham who did it for us.”
