India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson was recently seen interacting with fans in Kerala, just days after playing a pivotal role in India’s triumph at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The 29-year-old cricketer was spotted at a local shop in his hometown, where he happily posed for selfies with admirers who gathered to greet him.

The visit came shortly after Sanu Samson was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances during India’s title-winning campaign. Following the historic victory, the wicketkeeper-batter returned home for a brief break before joining the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League season.
Dressed casually in a black T-shirt and pants, Sanju Samson appeared relaxed as he spent some downtime away from the cricket field. Shop staff were among the first to take photos with the Indian star, and soon several fans joined in, turning the moment into a small celebration as they posed for group selfies.

In just five matches, Samson finished as India’s leading run-scorer, accumulating 321 runs at an impressive average of 80.25. His consistency and ability to handle pressure played a major role in India lifting the trophy.
The Kerala-born cricketer also received a grand welcome upon his arrival at the airport earlier this week. Hundreds of supporters gathered to greet him, while V Sivankutty personally welcomed the Player of the Tournament.

Reflecting on his improved batting approach, Samson admitted he had learned valuable lessons from past failures.
“I tried to hit every ball, but it didn’t work. Then I had to learn from those failures,” Sanju Samson said. “In a five-match series earlier, I tried to increase my strike rate, but that also didn’t work. For the World Cup, I prepared with a different game plan,” he added, highlighting the adjustments that eventually paid off on the biggest stage.
