Sanju Samson exhibited his outstanding wicketkeeping prowess with a remarkable stumping to dismiss Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran in the third T20I. In pursuit of 213 for a consolation win, Afghanistan got off to a solid start with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Zadran notching up brilliant fifties. However, Washington Sundar’s stunning catch dismissed Gurbaz for 50.

Zadran was the next to depart, falling victim to Samson’s exceptional stumping. Sundar bowled a wide delivery, enticing Zadran out of his crease. Seizing the opportunity, Samson displayed remarkable agility and presence of mind to collect the ball swiftly and dislodge the bails, catching Zadran well outside his ground.

The batsman had contributed a significant 50 runs off 41 balls, including four fours and one six, before succumbing to Samson’s quick reflexes. This moment of brilliance left the crowd and teammates, including Virat Kohli, in awe, celebrating the dismissal.

In the batting department, captain Rohit Sharma’s record-breaking century, supported by Rinku Singh’s half-century, propelled India to a formidable total of 212/4 in 20 overs after initial setbacks against Afghanistan in the third T20I in Bengaluru. Opting to bat first, India faced a shaky start with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and star batsman Virat Kohli succumbing to a golden duck on consecutive deliveries bowled by Fareed Ahmed in the third over.

Afghanistan continued their dominance, with Azmatullah Omarzai dismissing Shivam Dube for just one, caught behind by Rahmanullah Gurbaz. In the fifth over, Sanju Samson joined the procession, falling for a golden duck, caught by Nabi, granting Fareed his third wicket.
