A day before their league stage game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI) gave a hint about the chances of all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar making his IPL debut. Tendulkar had started as a net bowler for the five-time IPL Champions before being brought by the franchise up for INR 20 lakh in IPL 2021 auction. In the IPL 2022 mega auction, Arjun also drew a bid from Gujarat Titans before being re-signed by MI for INR 30 lakh.
Arjun Tendulkar hasn’t got a chance to play for MI yet and is likely to make his debut on Saturday (April 16). As MI gave a hint about his debut, his sister Sara Tendulkar commented on the post. Sara has been supportive of Arjun and had shared a post for him after he was signed by MI for the first time.

Should he make his way in the final XI, Arjun Tendulkar will either replace Basil Thampir or Jaydev Unadkat. MI’s pace attack has been pretty weak this season so far and it is a big reason behind them not winning a single game so far. Arjun has played 2 T20s for Mumbai state team. He was part of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy team but is uncapped in first-class cricket.
Meanwhile, MI will continue their search for the maiden win of the season. The Rohit Sharma-led side has suffered 5 back-to-back matches losses and is reeling at the last spot in the points table. MI had starter their campaign with a defeat against Delhi Capitals. They lost to Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings in their next 4 fixtures.
Every defeat at this stage will nullify MI’s chances to reach the playoffs and hence, they need to win the game against LSG, who have 3 wins from 5 matches. The first fixture of Super Saturday will be played at Brabourne Stadium from 3:30 PM IST. LSG are likely go in with an unchanged playing XI.
