Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed took a light-hearted dig at current white-ball skipper Babar Azam during match no.7 of the ongoing Champions Cup one-day series. The moment occurred during a clash between the Dolphins and Stallions at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, and has since gone viral.
Babar, known for his classical approach to batting in One Day Internationals (ODIs), has consistently delivered with the bat. However, his strike rate in recent years has become a subject of debate among fans and analysts alike.

In a humorous clip, Sarfaraz was overheard telling his teammates, “Theek hai, theek hai. Jaldi nahi hai, jaldi nahi hai. Bas in logo ko bolo Babar Babar karte rahe. Hum Babar ko chalis over khila denge. Shabaash. Baaki saare out ho jayenge. Boys, come on lads.” (It’s okay, no need to rush. Let the crowd keep chanting ‘Babar, Babar.’ We’ll make him play for 40 overs while the rest will get out. Come on, boys!)

Despite having impressive records in the 50-over format, including 5729 runs at an average of 88.75, the right-hand batter’s strike rate of 88 has been a point of contention. In T20 Internationals, his strike rate of 129 is considered below par for the format’s demanding pace.
