Mumbai’s prolific batter Sarfaraz Khan failed to make it to the playing XI for his side against Services in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The right-hander had been in brilliant form and had been playing a crucial role in Mumbai’s success in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final. The 25-year-old was seen getting admitted to a hospital in Ranchi after suffering pain due to a kidney stone and could not make it to the ground.
Mumbai also missed Shivam Dube in the line-up as he was ruled out recently from the tournament after an injury he picked up while bowling. Star batter Shreyas Iyer is not available as he is with the Indian team for the New Zealand tour and the Ajinkya Rahane-led side had to depend on promising youngsters like Armaan Jaffer and Sairaj Patel to make a difference.
