Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will not be taking part in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, commencing next month, according to the latest report. The Southpaw was ruled out of the ODI series against the Tigers commencing on December 4th due to knee surgery, following the Asia Cup in UAE. India A’s Saurabh Kumar is set to be announced as Jadeja’s replacement in the coming days.
Ravindra Jadeja, who couldn’t take part in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia due to a knee injury, was ruled out of the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, with RCB’s all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed named as his replacement for the limited-overs assignment.
However, according to the latest reports, Ravindra Jadeja will not be taking part in the couple of Tests that will follow the three ODIs in Bangladesh. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, the flamboyant all-rounder is still recuperating from his injury and won’t take part in the Test series, which has been doubtful ever since his replacement in the ODI squad.
Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Saurabh Kumar, who is currently part of the India A team, will replace Jadeja in the Test squad for the Bangladesh series. His inclusion is set to be made official in the upcoming few days.
The reports in the Cricbuzz read: “Saurabh Kumar, the left-arm spinner from Uttar Pradesh, who is part of the India A side, will come in place of Ravindra Jadeja, who is yet to recover from his knee injury. The national selectors will confirm the replacement in a couple of days.”
Ravindra Jadeja got criticized after he posed for a roadshow poster wearing the Indian cricket team’s jersey. It is worth noting that the veteran cricketer is campaigning for Rivaba Jadeja, his wife, for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. Rivaba is contesting the polls representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
