Rohit Sharma was visibly stunned when Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck against the USA in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Despite Kohli’s outstanding performance as an opener in the Indian Premier League, his transition to the same role in the T20 World Cup has been challenging.

The former Indian captain has struggled to make an impact, being dismissed for single digits in all three matches for the Men in Blue so far. On Wednesday, Kohli faced a full-length delivery from former Mumbai pacer Saurabh Netravalkar.

Attempting a drive expecting an inswinger, Virat Kohli edged the ball to wicketkeeper Andreis Gous, marking his first duck in a T20 World Cup game. His scores in this edition have been disappointing, with 1 (vs Ireland), 4 (vs Pakistan), and 0 (vs USA).
