Star USA player Saurabh Netravalkar’s sister, Nidhi Netravalkar, shared the big support from the leading tech firm, Oracle, which her brother has received for his cricketing career. She added that Oracle has always supported Saurabh in his alternate career as a USA cricketer. Meanwhile, Saurabh’s dedication towards coding made headlines as he took time at the team hotel to manage his work as an engineer after games as well. Saurabh also holds a top post at Oracle, being the principal member of the technical staff. Apart from that, he is a left-arm pacer in the USA cricket team and plays Ukulele also.

“He’s been very fortunate to have people who have always supported him throughout his career. He knows that when he’s not playing cricket, he has to give 100 per cent to the job. So right now, when he’s working, he carries his laptop everywhere. And he has the freedom to work from anywhere,” Nidhi told News 18. “Even when he comes to India, he brings his laptop. He’s working. So after the match in the hotel, he’s doing his work. He is pretty dedicated like that.”

However, Saurabh juggled between being a full-time engineer and a part-time cricketer as well. He further added another achievement was picking the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli during India’s match against the USA in New York as well. Nidhi also revealed that Saurabh, being a Mumbaikar, had this hustle culture instilled in him always as well.

“This is something which is like that Mumbaikarness in him, which is always there, this whole hustle culture in us. You can’t just take it out. You know, like all of us, like since the beginning, when he used to travel to Churchgate for his training on the train, he was to do his homework. He played cricket but also studied well and topped his class. He’s always had two careers in my perspective,” she concluded.
