Sehwag’s Gesture For Migrant Labourers Impresses Harbhajan

Former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag took to Instagram to reveal that he has been “cooking and packing food” for migrant laborers, who have been affected due to the coronavirus-enforced lockdown. A large number of migrant laborers have been making an attempt to travel traveling back to their homes ever since the first coronavirus lockdown in the country and continue to do so to date. Sehwag decided to lend a helping hand to those people who are in need in these testing times by providing meals.

Captioning the post on Twitter, Sehwag wrote: “The satisfaction of cooking and packing food from the comfort of your own homes and getting it distributed to the most needy migrant labourers in these times is a satisfaction few things can match.” Harbhajan Singh, veteran India off-spinner, applauded Sehwag’s gesture for the migrant labourers.

“Well done Lala,” Harbhajan wrote on Sehwag’s post. Young all-rounder Mayank Dagar also appreciated Sehwag for his efforts. The youngster commented, “@virendersehwag amazing gesture and contribution sir.”

Sehwag, who is known for not mincing his words on various topics on social media, had posted various videos and tweets, urging the people to stay at home and follow the guidelines that are being put in place by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Due to the ongoing health crisis, all major sporting events across the world have either been canceled or postponed as a precautionary measure.

Currently, India is going through a nationwide lockdown. Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 165000 with almost 4800 people losing their lives on Friday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Almost the entire is in a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
