It has happened for the first time in Indian cricket that the visitors have left Australia by not losing any series probably for the first time in history. While the T20I series ended in a 1-1 tie, the visitors sealed the Test and ODI series by 2-1 to cap off a successful tour. Some exceptional performances from the format specialists during the tour always kept India ahead and the team created history. After rewarding the players for their brilliant show on the tour, the BCCI has announced huge cash rewards for the five-man selection committee headed by MSK Prasad.

The BCCI has decided to award a cash bonus of ₹20 lakh each to all the five selectors of the panel for picking good teams on the tour. The CoA chairman Vinod Rai was expansive in their praise as the MSK Prasad-led selection panel faced a lot of challenges with injuries of some crucial cogs. But they always came out on top with some apt replacements which reflects that they were ready for any last minute changes.

Talking about the same, as quoted in Times Now, CoA chief Vinod Rai said, “We are extremely proud of the way Team India have performed in Australia. We had announced cash rewards for cricketers and support staff earlier and are now rewarding selectors. The five men have played a crucial role in picking a balanced Indian squad and offering the team management enough options to work around different combinations.”

He further added, “The boys chosen to represent the Indian team went about their task in a fearless manner and stood up in challenging situations.”

The challenges faced by the selectors were the indifferent form of KL Rahul and Murali Vijay in Tests and the problems doubled with Prithvi Shaw getting injured. Moreover, handing a debut to Mayank Agarwal in the all-important Melbourne Test was a brave call as well while they kept on backing the veteran MS Dhoni despite consistent failures and he delivered Man of the Series performances in the ODIs against Australia.
