England cricket team is going through a purple patch as they recently inflicted a whitewash in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. After that, the Eoin Morgan-led team won the ODI series by 2-0. Now, England is busy playing against Pakistan in the home series. Pakistan’s tour of England comprises three ODIs and as many T20Is. So far, the ODI series has been concluded.

England won all three games in style. As a result, the Three Lions inflicted another whitewash in the ODI series against Pakistan. The visiting team had a chance to save themselves from ignominy as they were aiming for a consolation victory in the third ODI. The tourists came close to victory but England had other ideas as they won the game by 3 wickets. Batting first, Pakistan posted a terrific total of 331/9 in their quota of 50 overs.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam maintained the momentum of the game and scored a terrific 158 off 139 balls including 14 fours and 4 sixes. Mohammad Rizwan played a brilliant decent knock of 74 off 58 balls including 8 fours. Imam-ul-Haq registered a fifty at the top.

England found support in the form of James Vince, who smashed a match-winning century. After his departure, Lewis Gregory anchored the innings with a terrific 77 off 69 balls including 6 fours and 3 sixes. However, Haris Rauf bowled a pretty good delivery to get the wicket of Gregory as the latter tried to hit the ball for a boundary.

As it turned out, Lewis hit it high in the air. Meanwhile, there was a major confusion between Shadab Khan and Sarfaraz Ahmed while taking the catch. Shadab Khan took a good catch but Sarfaraz Ahmed was not at all happy in the first place.
