Team India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, is renowned for his fearless batting, especially in the powerplay overs, where he takes on the responsibility of delivering quick runs for the team. His aggressive approach has paid off significantly in recent tournaments, with stellar performances in both the 2023 World Cup and the T20 World Cup 2024.

His ability to dominate the powerplay has not only benefited the Indian men’s team but also inspired many, including young Indian women’s cricketer Shafali Verma, who is now looking to emulate his style in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

The Indian women’s team has been striving for their first T20 World Cup title, having reached the final once in 2020, where they were defeated by Australia. This time, they are determined to go all the way, with Shafali Verma playing a crucial role. Known for her explosive batting, the young opener has openly expressed her admiration for Rohit Sharma’s aggressive play in the powerplay.

“I would choose India’s Rohit Sharma because the way he utilizes the powerplay is incredible to watch. Even in the World Cup, there are 2-3 innings that I can recall where he maximized the powerplay to the fullest,” Shafali Verma shared during an interview with Star Sports.
