Star Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh made headlines with his performance. His rise to the top has been amazing. Ever since his stunning knock against Gujarat Titans happened in the IPL 2023, he has become a star player for KKR, even getting to play for the Indian team in white-ball cricket as well. Notably, he has played 15 T20Is for India so far, where he has scored 356 runs to his name, maintaining an average of 89.00 and an astonishing strike rate of 176.23 as well.
And, Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently shared his wish to see him play for India in the World Cup.
“Such amazing players are playing for the country. I am really looking forward to Rinku, Inshallah being in the World Cup Squad and some other youngsters from other teams also. Some of them deserve it so much, but my personal wish is that Rinku makes it to the team. I will be so happy. That will be the high point for me,” SRK told Star Sports.
“I just want them to feel happy and when I see these boys playing, I feel like I am living as a sportsperson myself. Especially players like Rinku and Nitish (Rana), I see myself in them. I feel really happy when they perform well,” he further added.
However, speaking of KKR, KKR recently returned to winning ways after they breezed past Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals in the 47th game of the IPL 2024 on Monday, April 29 as well. Playing at the Eden Gardens, Delhi Capitals managed a total of 153 runs, which was easily chased down by KKR in 16.3 overs, as they won the game by seven wickets.
