Shahbaz Nadeem Does Donation Drives to help Families

The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has affected the world severely. It has brought the world to a standstill with many countries being completely lockdown for safety and to contain the spread of the virus.  The Government of India has implemented a 21-day lockdown to avoid gathering of people and contain the spread of this deadly lockdown. With no work and money available for the daily wage earners and other poor people, India cricketer Shahbaz Nadeem has decided to come to their rescue and help them.

The Dhanbad-born cricketer has been busy organizing donation drives in Jhariya to help the needy and poor by providing them with essential supplies. The star cricketer intends to help more than 350 families in the locality and ensure everyone has some relief on in such a time of distress. The player has been successful in helping upwards of 150 to 200 families but he does not want to stop there. In the time of crisis, the player wants to help as many people as he can. Shahbaz Nadeem has also urged others to come forward and urged people to help the poor and needy in any way possible.

“Till now we’ve been able to distribute these things among 150 families, there are 200 more to go. I believe in providing direct aid, so from the morning we’re mainly busy preparing packets so that we can help as many people as possible,” Nadeem was quoted by the Times of India.

With no other option, left stranded at home, he spoke on humanity being bigger than the cash-rich Indian Premier League which is likely to be canceled due to the pandemic.

“Right now the priority should be everyone’s safety and health. Whether it is today or tomorrow, IPL will be back but right now it’s human lives which are at stake. For me there is no other option other than working out at home. Any player would love to be on the field but one has to accept the situation,”  he rekoned.

The left-arm spinner also spoke on how the player is trying to maintain his fitness levels once the world comes backs to normalcy and all the sporting activities resume.

“The gym sessions are helping me. Whenever the season starts, be it the IPL or any other form of the game, I’m good enough to hit the ground running,” he said.

The pandemic spread of the COVID-19 Virus has affected more than 2,560 people in India taking away more than 70 lives. Originated in China, the virus has now affected more than 1,017,560  people taking 53,240 lives.
