Shaheen Afridi Cleared To Play Against India In The T20 World Cup?

Pakistan premier fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will be seen playing for his country in the T20 World Cup including the opening game against India on 23 October. He is a perfect fit for this match. The chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Rameez Raja has confirmed the report. Talking to the Pakistani channel Dawn News, Raja said that Afridi will make a comeback in the T20 World Cup, but one bad news is that leg-spinner Usman Qadir has injured himself.

Usman has suffered a hairline fracture in his finger. PCB chief informed that they will soon be announcing a replacement of the player Fakhar Zaman is also getting better and will be fully fit soon. Star left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi was out of the team due to a knee injury. He also missed the recent Asia Cup and the home T20 series against England.

Ahead of returning to the field, Shaheen posted a cryptic message on Twitter. The speedster posted his picture and wrote, “Calm before the storm.”

In recent times, Shaheen Afridi took wickets in the first over of about 70% of matches in T20Is. He also took the wicket of Rohit Sharma in the very first over against India in the T20 World Cup last year. After this, he also showed KL Rahul and Virat Kohli the way to the pavilion. Team India had to face defeat by 10 wickets in that match. This was India’s first defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the World Cup.
