The Marylebone Cricket Club (M.C.C) has appointed Bangladesh’s premium all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as a member of the World Cricket Committee.
Shakib has become a unique player to join some of the greatest names in cricket are current or ex-members of MCC’s World Cricket Committee. He will now be remembered similar to players like Kumar Sangakkara, Steve Waugh, Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting.
The southpaw took to his official Facebook account and posted a picture of the letter of appointment that was sent to him by the MCC. He wrote in the photo caption: “I truly feel humbled that you have chosen me to be a member of the Prestigious MCC World Cricket Committee. Thank you for bestowing me with such an honour.”
The letter clearly stated that Shakib’s membership will come into effect from October 1, 2017. MCC’s World Cricket committee acts as a complementary body to ICC and its component nations.
