Virat Kohli appeared to be in excellent form during the second Test between India and Bangladesh, playing with his signature aggression and determination. The former Indian skipper seemed poised to score a much-needed half-century after a string of underwhelming Test performances. His innings of 47 off just 35 balls included 4 crisp boundaries and 1 towering six, signalling that he was ready to take control of the match and continue India’s dominant performance.

However, his quest for a Test fifty was abruptly cut short by Bangladesh’s veteran all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan. Virat Kohli, brimming with confidence, misjudged a cleverly tossed-up delivery from Shakib at the ball kept a bit low. The arm ball was delivered wide of the crease, pitched on off stump, and deviated straight instead of turning.

In an attempt to clear the midwicket boundary, Virat Kohli swung hard but completely missed the ball. To his dismay, the delivery crashed into his stumps, sending him back to the pavilion just three runs shy of his half-century.

The dismissal was a crucial moment for Bangladesh, as Kohli had been looking increasingly dangerous, and his wicket provided them a glimmer of hope in a match that was gradually slipping away. Shakib’s breakthrough was celebrated with great relief by the Bangladesh team.
