The veteran Indian pacer, Mohammed Shami started the ODI series against Australia on the same note where he left off in Down Under. He looked sharp and bowled fast. Shami cleaned up Maxwell with a mind-boggling delivery for 40 off 51. The Australian all-rounder has been going to a fine form, he is coming off a century and was looking ominous to go on and hurt India.
One has to credit Shikhar Dhawan for the diving save he made at short mid-wicket on the previous ball, which meant Maxwell remained on strike. The wicket delivery was a length ball that just tailed in a touch at 136kph, Maxwell seemed to have played a touch early as he swung slightly across the line, also lost the bottom hand grip and completely missed the ball and hence, his off-stump had gone for a cart-wheel. Such sight for the fast bowler to see that off stump fly out of the ground.

Earlier in the game, in his 100th ODI, the Australian skipper, Aaron Finch made the correct call at the toss in the first ODI against India as Australia elected to bat first in Hyderabad. On the other hand, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli felt the exact opposite, saying the ball would come on nicely and that he would have bowled first anyway.

it was surprising that KL Rahul does not find a spot after a good T20I series, Ambati Rayudu seems to be the one being trusted at the 4th position. Yuzvendra Chahal has been rested as Jadeja, Kuldeep find spots. Pant too does not find a place.
The visitors only managed to reach a total of 236/7 in their quota of 50 overs with Usman Khawaja was the only one to score a hal-century. From India, Jasprit Bumrah, Shami and Kuldeep took two wickets each with the other wicket going to Kedar Jadhav.
