New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson has been bowling beautifully since making his debut in international cricket. He troubled India when they toured New Zealand in 2020 and, again, he was a thorn in the flash for Indians in the ongoing World Test Championship Final in Southampton.

After the lunch break, Jamieson removed Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah off successive balls and was on a hattrick. India’s number 11 Mohammed Shami came on the crease to face the hattrick ball. Kyle Jamieson must have been licking his lips when he saw Shami walking down to face the ball but Shami gave him an anticlimactic response in a classical way.

Kyle Jamieson bowled a juicy half-volley outside the off stumps and Shami didn’t hesitate as he drove him through the cover region to collect a boundary. Everyone from commentators to fans loved this response by Shami and applauded his shot.

Here is how Twitter reacted;

On the match’s front, India were 146/3 overnight and everyone was expecting Virat Kohli to go big on the third day. However, Jamison removed Kohli with a beautiful inswinger before dismissing dangerous Rishabh Pant. With his two wickets off two balls, Kyle Jamieson completed his fifth five-wicket haul in Test cricket. He took only eight Test matches to reach this milestone.

Ajinkya Rahane played a handy knock of 49 runs before he threw away his wicket in the most unusual fashion trying to pull Neil Wagner. Ravichandran Ashwin played some shots and scored 22 runs but his effort only dragged India’s total to 217/10.

Indian pacers started on a good note and bowled tight line and lengths. Tom Latham and Devon Conway hung around till the tea break and scored 36 runs in 21 overs without losing any wicket.
