Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling coach Shane Bond reckons that Delhi Capitals (DC) is a highly talented side ahead of his side’s match against the Rishabh Pant-led team on Tuesday. Notably, MI and DC will be locked horns with each other in the final of IPL 2020 with the former clinching the trophy with a 4-0 whitewash over the Capitals in the season. 

The former New Zealand pacer has lauded Delhi for starting their IPL 2021 campaign on a bright note. However, he added that Mumbai is ‘always well planned’ and will continue to attack DC players in different ways.

In a video shared by Mumbai Indians, Shane Bond said, “They are a team that is highly talented, last year they played outstanding cricket and have started the season well again, particularly with the bat. They certainly deserved their place in the final and have started off the season strongly once again. We take a lot of confidence, we know we are a team that matches strongly against them.”

He further added, “We are always well planned and we have attacked their players in different ways and we will do the same. In the last couple of games, the teams have got a good start against us, our spinners have done a brilliant job in the middle. Teams are scoring 20-25 runs of the last five overs which is a real credit to our bowlers. They are really clear about what they want to do.”

Delhi will be playing their first match in Chennai in the IPL 2021 season. Rishabh Pant and his men have won 2 out of their 3 matches of the Mumbai leg and are currently placed third on the points table.

Mumbai, on the other hand, has all their 3 matches in Chennai. After 2 wins, they are placed fourth on the 8-team points table.
