Shane Warne Names Indian Pair In His Greatest ODI XI

With no cricket going on, all the cricketers, have a lot of free time on their hands right now. They are making the most of it by spending time with family. Many cricketers have also been proactive on their social media in the past few weeks due to the lockdown. Former Australian player Shane Warne is no different as he decided to spend some time on Twitter. The former leg-spinner decided to enlist his followers and shared his all-time ODI XI. Shane Warne has made the list from the selective bracket of players the spinner hs played against.

Warne’s all-time XI is a team filled with superstars. He decided to have India legend Sachin Tendulkar and the aggressive hard hitter, Sachin’s most famous opening partner Virender Sehwag as the 2 Indians in his ODI XI.

Warne paired the free-spirited dynamic Indian opener in Virender Sehwag along with Sri Lanka legend Sanath Jayasuriya as his opening duo. The Australian spinner has left the No 3 slot for former India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Needing no introduction the little master has accumulated 18426 runs in ODIs and is the highest run-getter in the format.

With West Indian legend Brian Lara batting in at no 4, Warne has sandwiched one of England’s all-time great, Kevin Pieterson at number 5 between Brian Lara and Kumar Sangakkara. Andrew Flintoff is the lone allrounder in Warne’s star-studded ODI XI.  After Flintoff, Warne moves onto the bowling attack of his ODI 11.

Warne has decided to go with Pakistan left-arm legend Wasim Akram. West Indian Curtly Ambrose also makes it in Warne’s 11. The spinner also decided to have another Pakistan fast bowler in Shoaib Akhtar for him 3 man pace attack.  Daniel Vettori is the only New Zealand player and the lone specialist spinner in Warne’s lineup of his ODI XI team.
