Recently, Shapoor revealed that his favourite IPL team is the three-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians and he wants to play for that franchise. The left-arm pacer is confident to play the big franchise leagues across the world like IPL, BBL etc.

Talking to indianexpress.com, Shapoor said, “Every cricketer wants to play in the big leagues across the world and I have the same desire. I am confident of playing in the IPL and the Big Bash during the upcoming season. I would love to play for Mumbai Indians as they are my favourite team.”

In 2013, Shapoor had featured in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) where he had played for Khulna Royal Bengals. Though the team had finished at the bottom position (seventh-placed), Shapoor had impressed with his performances as he had bagged ten wickets in eight games.

Shapoor has played 61 T20s where he has claimed 64 wickets. After making T20I debut in 2010, Shapoor has played 34 T20Is and has got 35 wickets. Though several injuries in the recent times make tougher for the left-arm pacer, he has no mood to compromise with his primary weapon – pace.

Shapoor said on that, “For one year I wasn’t in the team. Injuries hampered my progress. But I have developed several skills for T20’s during that period. I am focussing a lot on variations as well. But pace remains my primary weapon as batsmen find it difficult to negotiate.”

Shapoor also enjoys hitting long sixes with the bat and he assures that he will continue it.

“T20 is all about hitting the big sixes. I will do the same and try to hit the ball long,” Shapoor concluded with a smile.
