Indian pacer Shardul Thakur has successfully undergone his foot surgery in London as well. He also took to his social media account to share the news. However, Thakur sustained an injury during India’s South Africa tour in January and he recurred a similar injury five years back and made a resounding return to professional cricket as well. Due to the injury, he had requested BCCI to schedule a period during each game as he was actively involved in the Ranji Trophy 2024 as well.
Shardul Thakur was bought by Chennai Super Kings before the Indian Premier League 2024 season but he failed to leave a mark. In nine matches, he claimed only five wickets and was expensive in his outings with an economy rate of 9.75 as well. Coming back to his recovery process, he will be looked after by BCCI as well. As per the report, Thakur will take at least three months to fully recover.

Talking about the injuries, veteran Indian pacer, Mohammed Shami has been in a recovery process after he underwent Achilles Tendon surgery in London as well. Shami was the premier bowler for India at the World Cup 2023 having claimed 24 wickets, the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Meanwhile, India’s T20I maverick, Suryakumar Yadav too had undergone a surgery concerning sports hernia just after the South Africa series in January as well.
