Ravi Shastri, the head coach of Team India, has stated that Cheteshwar Pujara will be mainly focused during the construction of new central contract process.

Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Shastri mate Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Thursday regarding the enforcement of a new central contract process, which has to be flexible for players like Pujara. Team India skipper and Shaz raised a valid point of balance in the payment of players, who only feature in one format and failed to attract buyers during the auction of the Indian Premier League.

Talking to Rajdeep Sardesai, Shastri quoted “It is very important that someone like Cheteshwar Pujara is kept in the top bracket of central contract.”

Saurashtra-born Pujara has been the mainstay of Indian batting line-up in the Test cricket. Meanwhile, he has ‘A’ grade contract in BCCI’s central contract list.

Amidst, Indian coach threw light over Dhoni-Kohli relation and added “I have never seen Dhoni lose his cool. If he has, it must have been for 10 seconds. Kohli is still work in progress but he will certainly mature. I hear a lot of stories about their relationship but all those are not true. I have seen how much mutual respect the two have for each other.”
