Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has officially unveiled his debut autobiography titled ‘The One’, sharing the news with an emotional reel on Instagram that has resonated deeply with fans. In the reel, Dhawan poured his heart out with a touching message: “Not every win makes it to the highlights. Not every loss shows on the scoreboard. ‘The One’ is the story of all the in-betweens. Of learning, unlearning, and showing up, every single time. This one’s from the heart,” he wrote, underlining the emotional depth and introspection that readers can expect.

Shikhar Dhawan also revealed that the book is now available for pre-order and closed his caption with a folded-hands emoji, humbly seeking support and blessings from his fans as he embarks on this literary journey.

The left-hander made his international debut in 2010 but truly announced himself on the Test stage with a breathtaking 187 off 174 balls against Australia in Mohali in 2013. He was instrumental in India’s ICC triumphs, especially during the 2013 Champions Trophy where he was named Player of the Tournament. Across ICC ODI events, Dhawan amassed 1238 runs at a stunning average of 65.15, including six centuries.

Dhawan retired from international cricket in August 2024, concluding a stellar career with 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is, scoring 2315, 6793, and 1759 runs respectively.

Beyond cricket, Dhawan’s personal life also saw turbulence. His marriage to Ayesha Mukherjee ended in divorce in 2021, with allegations of mental cruelty. The most painful chapter, he admitted, was being denied permanent custody of his son Zoravar, and spending long periods apart from him. In ‘The One’, Dhawan promises to lay bare not just his triumphs, but also his deepest struggles.
