As India is currently fighting against the second wave of the global pandemic novel coronavirus pandemic, many people, including players and other celebrities from different fields, are trying to help normal people by donating money, oxygen cylinders, or arranging beds in hospitals too. Meanwhile, India’s swashbuckling opener Shikhar Dhawan also did his part.
He took to social media and shared how he is trying to help the people in the country in these times. Dhawan, however, retweeted a post by Gurugram Police, who had shared the news that Shikhar Dhawan had donated oxygen concentrators.
Notably, the opener recently featured in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 where he was playing for Delhi Capitals (DC), but the tournament was postponed for an indefinite time period with an immediate effect in the midway after several players got infected by the COVID-19 in different cities despite being in the bio-bubble.

IPL 2021 was cancelled after players and support staff across teams have been tested positive for COVID-19 inside the bio-bubble which started with Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Later, Chennai Super Kings support staff members Lakshmipathy Balaji and Michael Hussey have also been tested positive for the virus. Along with them, SunRisers Hyderabad’s Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals’ Amit Mishra too got infected which saw the BCCI and IPL Governing Council decided to call off the cash-rich league.

Meanwhile, three Australian cricketers Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa, and Kane Richardson have pulled out of the tournament for personal reasons at the early stage of the league. However, the players who took part faced a travel ban as the country imposed it on arrivals from India as the current situation is quite bad here.
On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan was leading the batting chart with 380 runs from 8 games and his franchise Delhi Capitals finished at the top of the points table before the competition was postponed, with six wins and two losses in their name. The other teams in the top four were occupied by Chennai Super Kings (second), Royal Challengers Bangalore (third) and Mumbai Indians (fourth) as well.
