Sri Lankan national cricket team turned out to be too hot to handle for the Indian team in the third and final T20I in Colombo. Earlier, Team India was leading the series 1-0 after winning the first T20I by 38 runs. However, the hosts made a stellar comeback in the second T20I and won the game by 4 wickets, and leveled the series. Their memorable victory set up a perfect climax for the series decider. Team India won the toss and elected to bat first.

Meanwhile, the Lankans stunned the Indian batting unit by taking wickets at regular intervals. No Indian batsman showed any intent with the bat as they fell prey to Sri Lankan bowlers. Ruturaj Gaikwad amassed 14 off 10 balls including 2 fours at the top. Before his departure, as many as 3 wickets fell in quick intervals. In the end, the Men in Blue managed to score 81/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. This is India’s third-lowest total in T20Is.

After the game, the Indian skipper, Shikhar Dhawan made the headlines as he was seen conveying some useful tips to the Sri Lankan players. The video of Dhawan sharing his experience with the opposition players after the third T20I went viral on social media.

Even the commentators were seen appreciating Shikhar Dhawan for his nice gesture towards the Lankans. Dhawan, at the post-match presentation, was asked about his conversation with the Lankan players. Explaining the same, Dhawan said, “The Sri Lankan boys wanted to know what’s my process, I was just sharing my experience. I hope they enjoyed listening to it. And, congratulations to the Sri Lankan team.”

Although Indian players tried their best to mount pressure on Sri Lanka, the hosts held their nerves and chased down the target. Sri Lanka eventually won the game by 7 wickets. As a result, they won the series by 2-1. Rahul Chahar was the pick of the bowlers for Team India as he took 3 wickets.
