Team India is all geared up with resume international cricket with an Australia tour comprising a three-match ODI and T20I series followed by a four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy. The tour begins from November 27 in Sydney, thus, the Indian team is completing its 14-day mandatory quarantine period in a hotel room in Sydney. On November 24, Tuesday, India’s Test deputy skipper, Ajinkya Rahane had apparently gotten a day off from the training.
However, Ajinkya Rahane decided not to take much of a rest as he started practicing in his hotel room. Rahane took to his official Instagram handle to share a video of himself doing batting practice in the hotel room.
Captioning the video of him practicing in his hotel room, Ajinkya Rahane wrote: “Off day from the nets means I find other ways to keep batting. Can’t stay away from my bat for too long. Sorry neighbours,”

The veteran Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan, who is known for his wit and humor on social media, advised Ajinkya in the comment section to spend time with his daughter and feed her in the hotel room instead of practicing in the room. Dhawan also revealed that the middle-order batsman had amassed a fifty in one of the intrasquad matches and doesn’t require more practice.

Dhawan commented, “Bhai maan gaye ek din pahle practice match khela tha. Usme tune 50 mare, yeh prac se kya fayda?? Beti ko khila room pe bhai,” (We all know you are in good form after seeing your half-century in the day before. Then what’s the purpose of this practice? Instead, feed your daughter in the room.)
Notably, both Shikhar and Ajinkya were seen playing together for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the just concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhawan has had a phenomenal outing in the tournament as he had amassed 618 runs in 17 games and played an instrumental role in taking his team to the final of the league.

On the other hand, Rahane had a lukewarm season as he managed to amass 113 runs in 9 games. Delhi failed to lift their maiden IPL trophy as they registered a defeat against Mumbai Indians in the final.
