Shivam Dube produced one of the most jaw-dropping moments of the fourth T20I between India and Australia at Carrara Oval in Queensland on Thursday (November 6). Moments after Rinku Singh relayed a message from head coach Gautam Gambhir, the all-rounder responded with raw power—launching a colossal six that sailed clean out of the stadium.

The moment came when Adam Zampa tossed the ball wide outside off, hoping to tempt Dube into a mistimed shot. Instead, the left-hander danced down the track and connected perfectly, sending the ball soaring high over long-on. The hit was so massive that it cleared the ground entirely, forcing the umpires to replace the ball. It was a stroke that showcased Dube’s fearlessness and reaffirmed his reputation as one of India’s cleanest hitters, especially against spin.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first. Skipper Mitchell Marsh explained the decision, saying, “We don’t play a lot here. Wonderful to be here; we want to gain as much information about the surface as we can. Both teams are pumped up. We have four changes—Zampa, Dwarshuis, Maxwell, Philippe come in.”

India’s stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav expressed confidence in batting first, noting the conditions felt very familiar. “This is what you play bilaterals for. Beautiful, big ground and everything to play for. Preparations have been good. It looks like subcontinent conditions. We were looking to bat first and put runs on the board. Same team,” SKY said.
Shivam Dube’s towering six added flair to an already exciting contest, giving fans yet another moment to remember from India’s ongoing tour.
