Shoaib Akhtar Feels PM Modi Will Ask MS Dhoni To Play T20 World Cup

Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni announced retirement from international cricket through an Instagram post on August 15, India’s Independence day. Former cricketers and fans can still not stop talking about the captain and Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has been amongst many stalwarts who have paid rich tribute to Dhoni. He Akhtar had come up with one of the most beautiful messages on MS Dhoni’s retirement as he said, “the story of cricket will never be complete without MS Dhoni”.

In one of his posts, Akhtar said, “A man, an era, a person who changed the way the sport was played. We call him Mahendra Singh Dhoni.”

But that’s not it from Shoaib as during an interview with YouTube channel BolWasim, Akhtar has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi might request MS Dhoni to take part in the T20 World Cup and added that Dhoni might have to oblige because one can’t say “no the Prime Minister”.

Shoaib Akhtar said, “You never know, the Prime Minister may call him and request him to play the T20 World Cup. That is also possible. Imran Khan was asked by General Zia-ul-Haq not to leave cricket after 1987, and he played. You cannot say no to the Prime Minister.”

Praising MS Dhoni further, Akhtar said, Further, Shoaib Akhtar said that the former Indian skipper has given enormous memories for Indian fans which will remain in their mind and heart. Akhtar added the person from Ranchi had “rocked” whole of India and has won everything in the game.

Akhtar elaborated, “I think he could have gone on to play the T20 World Cup. The way India supports its stars, the way they love them, and recognize them, they would have played him in T20s. But it was his personal choice. But again he has won everything, a person from Ranchi has rocked the whole of India, what else do you need. At the end of the day, the world should remember you. And a nation like India, they will never let you get forgotten.”
