Former Pakistani pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar said that Mohsin Khan’s stint with the Mumbai Indians (MI) was great even though he did not play a single game for his current IPL franchise. According to him, the time in the MI nets must have helped him a lot fine-tune his skills as well. Mohsin stayed three seasons as part of the MI set-up before Lucknow Super Giants bought him at the IPL 2022 auction. He has already impressed everyone and is being considered as one of the key players in their game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as well.

While previewing the match, Shoaib Akhtar told Sportskeeda: “When the world stops you, understand that you have that capacity. When the world says you are not good enough, you have to keep moving. It was good that Mumbai did not play him. That’s because he was being readied for another team. Mohsin has done well so far, but should look to keep improving himself and pick up more wickets.”

However, Mohsin has so far picked up 13 wickets in eight matches at an average of 13.23 and a stunning economy rate of 5.93. He picked up four for 16 in a league match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) as well. he also opened up on Quinton de Kock, the LSG opener, who is in a sublime form. He has scored 502 runs in 14 IPL 2022 at an average of 38.62 and a strike rate of 149.40 as well.

“Quinton de Kock is a destructive player. He is a game-changer, who has all the shots. If you have observed, he is always happy when playing in the IPL and is seen smiling. I have never seen Quinton de Kock this happy in international cricket. There is no pressure on him and he doesn’t look lost,” Shoaib Akhtar again shared.

He also praised Dinesh Karthik for overcoming “personal setbacks” and not getting affected by all those in his cricketing career. However, Karthik has been doing exceptionally well for RCB and returned to the Indian T20I squad for the home series against South Africa as well. Moreover, he has been RCB’s designated finisher in IPL 2022 and has played some stunning cameos at the death overs as well.

“I usually avoid speaking about people’s personal lives. What I want to say here is that he had suffered some setbacks in his personal life, but he came back really well after that. I have followed his personal life and read quite a bit about it. And I really like how he has come back. I would say well done to him. This is what attitude is all about. It’s a big thing. Dinesh Karthik is a player from my era. He’s really fit and mentally strong. Good things happen to good people. Great to see the way he has made a comeback into the Indian team. My best wishes are with him,” Shoaib Akhtar concluded.
