Former Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar believes Pakistan should make several changes to their lineup in order to succeed at the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, which will be played in Australia.

Akhtar said while speaking on his YouTube channel on Monday, October 3. He explained: “If this is the team that is going to go to the World Cup, there could possibly be a problem. I would rather want them to go back to the drawing board and think about what can be changed and what they can do to win the World Cup.”It’s going to be a tough call. But if you land there, it’s going to be very tough. The likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed will be targeted with short balls.”

However, Pakistan have faced a lot of criticism for losing their recently concluded seven-match T20I series against England by 3-4. Akhtar further went on to say that they lack strength in their batting. He added that they must add more firepower to their batting to do well Down Under.

“They don’t have the required strength in their batting order. Unless you add their strength to their batting, they will continue to get exposed. You can’t think that teams won’t bowl short to you in Australia. They will surely bowl there. I hope Pakistan go and do well there. The chances are minimum, but I’m hoping for the best,” Shoaib Akhtar concluded.
