Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has turned down the speculations and slammed the Indian media for spreading false news. He clarifies that he did not make any statement on the India-Pak World Cup tie. The former pacer took a dig at the Indian media and accused it of putting words in his mouth.
Akhtar also condemned the Pulwama attack and urged both the nations to start a dialogue to resolve the issue. Condemning the death of the CRPF troopers, Akhtar said that India had all the right to pull out of the game against Pakistan which is slated to be held on June 16 at Manchester.

Shoaib’s recent tweet read, “I completely deny the false news by Indian media about my statement on Indian cricket team / World Cup 2019. I did not make any statement at all and Indian media is making it up. I condemn the loss of lives. Both countries should come to the table to resolve the issues.”

Earlier, seconding the speech by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Akhtar was quoted as saying by an Indian news channel, “They have a right to pull out. Their country was attacked and hence the decision. You cannot argue on that?”

However, on Friday, the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) have decided to consult the government on the decision to play the game against Pakistan in the upcoming ICC World Cup. However, the board has also clarified that for now that they will be seeking extra security for the team during the tournament.
