Shoaib Akhtar trolled by ICC for controversial tweet

With no cricket going on, all the cricketers have a lot of free time on their hands right now. Many cricketers have also been proactive on their social media in the past few weeks due to the lockdown. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is also seen participating in interactive sessions with fans on Twitter. Recently, The Rawalpindi Express responded to a poll on ESPNCricinfo. The poll shared an image suggesting best imaginary contests amongst the best bowlers of the previous generation against the modern-day batsmen.

The image shared by ESPNcricinfo had  many interesting match-ups and contest that players cricket  fans would have loved to watch. It included battles like Kohli vs Warne, Babar vs McGrath, Anwar vs Bumrah, etc.

In the post, Shoaib Akhtar was drawn against current Australian superstar Steve Smith.  The Pakistan great responded on the same pic and said “Even today, 3 hurting bouncers and I can dismiss @stevesmith49 on the 4th ball. Lol,”

The International Cricket Council twitter handle came up with a hilarious reply to Shoaib Akhtar’s tweet. Responding to Akhtar’s tweet, ICC created a meme with basketball great Michael Jordan’s facial reactions.

Earlier, Akhtar had harshly criticized the Aussie batsmen’s technique. When Steve Smith played a match winnings innings at Canberra against Pakistan in a T20I match, Akhtar shared his inability to understand Steve Smith. Akhtar had spoken ow he would have tried to hurt him with bouncers if they both played at the same time.

Akhtar had said, “I am surprised how he does it. He has no technique or style but has bravery. So he is very effective. He reaches the pitch of the ball and was severe on Mohammad Amir. I do not know how he does it. If he was playing in my time, I would have definitely hit him (3 or 4 on his face). I would have tried to hurt him.”
