Bangladesh locked horns with the Pakistan cricket team in the first match of the three-match T20I series on Friday at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the home side got off to the worst start as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Afif Hossain was the highest run-getter as he scored 36 off 34 balls with the help of 2 fours and as many sixes. Mahedi Hasan scored an unbeaten 30 off 20 balls with the help of one boundary and a couple of sixes at a strike rate of 150. Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan contributed 28 off 22 balls including 2 hits over the fence.

On the other hand, Pakistan bowlers delivered with disciplined lines and lengths and kept the opposition in check. The bowlers ensured to not concede a lot of runs in the powerplay and death overs. Hasan Ali was the pick of the bowlers as he accounted for three dismissals. Mohammad Wasim Jr took a couple of wickets. Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan took a wicket apiece.
Hasan Ali was named the Man of the Match for his bowling performance. During the game, the speedometer helped Hasan Ali surpass Shoaib Akhtar’s record. Well, some fans thought it was for real, it turned out to be a technical glitch in the speed gun, leaving the cricket fraternity bemused.
In the end, Bangladesh managed to score 127/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Pakistan was really pleased with their bowling performance but they struggled to score runs in the run-chase. Pakistan opening pair Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam scored 16 runs in 2.4 overs. Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman provided a sudden breakthrough for the hosts. The southpaw fast bowler got rid of Rizwan with a gem of a delivery.

Here is how the fans reacted to the dismissal:
Poor way to get out in cricket is run-out but this really was more than that. Extremely lazy work from Shoaib Malik, you can't expect that from a experienced campaigner in such a crucial situation. Pakistan are 30-4 now after 7 overs, chasing 128. #BANvPAK #PAKvBAN pic.twitter.com/im4qNGbQ9f
