On Tuesday, the Indian selectors finalized India ‘A’ team for two four-day and five one-day games against Sri Lanka ‘A’ to be played from May 25 as also the ‘A’ team for the West Indies ‘A’ tour. The Indian squad will be playing three four-day & five one-day games against West Indies ‘A’ starting July 11.
Interestingly, Wriddhiman Saha will be making a come back in the India ‘A’ squad for the multi-day matches against West Indies ‘A’ while K.S. Bharat is the second-choice keeper. Rishabh Pant has also been included in the squad for the five one-day games and the team will be led by Manish Pandey. Shreyas Iyer will lead the team in the three four-day games against West Indies ‘A’.

This tour could be the perfect opportunity for Saha to make a bid for himself to prompt selectors having lost his place in the Test team to Pant after he injured his shoulder. The one-day series against West Indies ‘A’ will also be the perfect ground for Rishabh to prepare for the battle when the two national squads meet after the grueling World Cup in England and Wales.
In the series at home against Sri Lanka, while Ishan Kishan will be leading the team during the four-day leg of the series, Priyank Panchal has been elected as the captain of the one-day games against Sri Lanka.
