India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer recently gave fans a glimpse of his intense offseason training after being spotted in a mirror selfie with Chennai Super Kings batter Aman Khan. The photograph, shared on Khan’s Instagram Stories, showed the two cricketers putting in the hard yards during a training session while holidaying in Bali, Indonesia.

Iyer was seen shirtless and wearing athletic shorts after completing his workout, while Khan posed alongside him inside a well-equipped fitness facility. The gym featured a range of conditioning equipment, including heavy dumbbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls, highlighting the intensity of their training routine.
For modern cricketers, maintaining peak fitness has become increasingly important. With players competing across multiple formats and spending much of the year on the road, strength, mobility, endurance, and injury prevention have become essential components of preparation.

Iyer has regularly shared glimpses of his fitness work on social media, offering followers an insight into the physical preparation that goes on away from the cricket field. His training sessions typically focus on functional strength, agility, and muscular endurance, all of which can help players cope with the demands of professional cricket.
The latest photograph quickly attracted attention online, with fans praising Iyer and Aman Khan for maintaining their fitness during the offseason. For Iyer in particular, the training comes at an important stage as he prepares for a busy period of limited-overs cricket.

The middle-order batter recently led India to a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe. Iyer produced steady contributions throughout the series, scoring an unbeaten 28, 25, and 27 in the three matches while guiding a relatively young Indian side as captain.
His performances followed a mixed campaign during the UK tour. Iyer struggled against Ireland as India suffered a 2-0 series defeat, but he responded impressively against England. He scored 68 in the opening T20I and later produced an 80-run knock during the five-match series. However, India ultimately lost the series 4-0, with the opening match abandoned because of bad weather.

With the offseason providing an opportunity to recharge and strengthen his physical conditioning, Iyer will now turn his attention towards upcoming limited-overs assignments. India’s next T20I challenge is scheduled to come against the West Indies in a five-match series in October, giving the skipper another opportunity to lead from the front.
