The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the T20I squad for New Zealand series, which will be played in the first week of November. Shreyas Iyer has been named in the squad for the series.
Another notable name in this squad is Mohammad Siraj, who has featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. The Hyderabad lad is very regular at the domestic level and travelled to South Africa with India ‘A’ team. Dinesh Karthik also retained his position in the T20I squad after featuring in the ODI series.
The three-match series will go underway from 1 November in Delhi. If India managed to win this series by 3-0, they will replace New Zealand from the top-spot of the T20I rankings. Currently, India is placed fifth after drawing the T20I series versus Australia.
The series opener in Feroz Shah Kotla will be Ashish Nehra’s last International match; he announced this during Australia T20I series. The 37-year-old veteran will not play anymore after this game, not even IPL.
