However, the Gujarat Titans came out determined and delivered an explosive start. A 61-run opening stand was followed by a crucial 84-run partnership between Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler for the third wicket. Sudharsan, showcasing his class, smashed 74 off just 41 balls, including five boundaries and six towering sixes.

Yet, there was a moment of missed opportunity for PBKS when Shreyas Iyer, their captain, failed to hold onto a catch off Glenn Maxwell’s bowling. The PBKS skipper looked visibly frustrated but quickly apologized to Maxwell for letting the chance slip.

Eventually, Arshdeep Singh managed to send Sudharsan back to the pavilion, but GT still had hopes alive at 171/2, needing 73 off 34 balls. Earlier, debutant Priyansh Arya’s quickfire 47 off 23 deliveries laid a strong foundation for PBKS, complemented by Iyer’s spectacular 97-run knock and Shashank Singh’s fiery 44-run cameo.

On the bowling front, R. Sai Kishore was the standout performer for GT, picking up three wickets for just 30 runs, briefly stalling PBKS’s momentum. Yet, PBKS’s depth in batting ensured they posted a daunting total. As the chase unfolds, GT faces an uphill battle, needing something special to pull off a historic run chase. With every passing over, the tension builds, making this contest a true IPL classic.
