Indian batsman Shubman Gill reassured fans about his finger injury, indicating that scans revealed no significant issues and expressing confidence in his recovery over the next few days. Despite his absence from the field on the fourth day of the second Test against England, Gill’s pivotal role in India’s series-levelling victory couldn’t be overlooked.
While Gill showcased his batting prowess with a remarkable 104-run innings on Day 3, contributing significantly to India’s triumph, he remained sidelined on Monday, with Sarfaraz Khan stepping in as his substitute. Gill’s departure from the field on Sunday was prompted by a right index finger injury, leading to immediate scans to assess its severity.
Reflecting on his condition after India’s win, Shubman Gill assured that he would recover swiftly, alleviating concerns about the injury. Meanwhile, the Indian team management clarified that Gill’s absence from the field was due to the injury sustained while fielding on Day 2, affecting his participation in the ongoing match.
