Their latest triumph came against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, where they sealed a dominant 39-run win, showcasing both batting firepower and bowling precision.

After posting a commanding 198/3, GT’s bowlers kept KKR on a tight leash, restricting them to 159/8 in their 20 overs. The contest briefly looked competitive when KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane and allrounder Venkatesh Iyer began to rebuild with a 41-run third-wicket stand.

As Venkatesh Iyer trudged off, Shubman Gill celebrated passionately, thumping Sai Kishore’s chest in elation. Good teams close games properly, and that moment reflected my emotions.”

Gill had every reason to be pumped. He was the star with the bat, crafting a fluent 90 off 55 deliveries, laced with 10 fours and three sixes. His opening stand with Sai Sudharsan (52 off 36) laid the platform with a 114-run partnership.
