Siddhesh Lad wants to learn as much as possible from Rahul Dravid

The Mumbai middle-order batsman Siddhesh Lad has earned a chance to play for India A in the upcoming quadrangular List A series. Lad is excited to work with the India A coach Rahul Dravid as he wants to learn a lot from the former Indian captain.

In the upcoming quadrangular List A series, India A will participate with India B, Australia A and South Africa A. The series will be played at Vijayawada from August 17 to 29.

On Monday, Lad has been picked up in the 15-member India A squad. The 26-year-old right-handed middle-order batsman is keen to learn as much as possible from Dravid.

Lad told PTI, “I will get to learn a lot from him (Rahul Dravid) and I will try to learn as much as possible from him.”

Since making his debut in the professional cricketing career in February 2013, Lad has grown up as a consistent performer for Mumbai. He has played 39 first-class matches, 22 List A matches and 24 T20s, where he has scored 2,767 runs, 836 runs and 464 runs respectively with a good average.

In the last season, Lad was in a superb form as he was the most runs scorer for Mumbai in both Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the Ranji Trophy, he scored 652 runs with the average of 59.27 including two centuries and three half-centuries.

On the other hand, Lad scored 373 runs in last Vijay Hazare Trophy with the average of 62.16 including three brilliant centuries. In the last four games of 2017/18 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Lad scored three centuries.

Talking about this great opportunity to play for India A, Lad believes that he deserves this opportunity.

The 26-year-old said, “I feel, from the performances I have put in (in domestic cricket), it is a well-deserved opportunity and it is in my hands to grab it. My job is to give 100 per cent and my approach and routine will be the same like I play for Mumbai. I have been doing good for Mumbai. I think I have been rewarded for what I have done.”
