The young Mumbai Indians (MI) left-arm fast bowler, Arjun Tendulkar has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season due to injury. In IPL 2020, Arjun Tendulkar was the net bowler for the Mumbai Indians. The 22-year-old pacer, son of the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, is yet to play a game for the Mumbai Indians. MI bought Arjun Tendulkar at the auction at his base price of ₹20 Lakhs.
In a statement announcing the same, Mumbai Indians said, “Mumbai Indians have added Simarjeet Singh as an injury replacement for Arjun Tendulkar. The right-arm medium-fast bowler has started training with the team after completing the mandatory quarantine as per IPL guidelines.”

In a tweet announcing the same, MI wrote: “Right-arm medium pacer Simarjeet Singh will be replacing Arjun Tendulkar for the remainder of #IPL2021”.

Simarjeet Singh, who plays for Delhi in domestic cricket, was one of the net bowlers in India’s recent white-ball tour against Sri Lanka. However, the lanky fast bowler was included in the T20I after Covid-19 hit the Indian cricket team’s bio-bubble. Simarjeet made his debut for Delhi against Saurashtra in a List A match in September 2018.

Simarjeet had an impressive Vijay Hazare Trophy last season with 11 wickets at an average of 28.45 and an economy rate of 5.65. He was Delhi’s joint second-highest wicket-taker.
For Delhi, the lanky pacer has played 10 first-class, 19 List A, and 15 T20 matches. Singh has bagged 37 first-class wickets, 19 List A wickets, and 18 T20 wickets to his name. In first-class cricket, he has four-wicket hauls and once a five-wicket haul, as well as four wickets in List A matches.
