Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been going good in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, today in Chennai, both Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal dropped the catch by letting the ball land in between them as well and Hrshal Patel failed to take the wicket.
Meanwhile, people have found similarities between this incident and the one which happened years ago when Saeed Ajmal and Shoaib Malik were involved in one of the most hilarious moments during an ODI against the West Indies. While going for a huge hit down the ground, Chris Gayle hit one off the bowling of Umar Gul, and the ball went in the open space between mid-on and mid-off. A simple call would have done the work, but both Shoaib Malik and Saeed Ajmal ended up the ball watching, which resulted in it dropping in between them.

And today in Chennai, both Siraj and Chahal did the same. On the second ball of the 14th over when Harshal Patel has bowled an exquisite off-cutter outside off-stump, KKR captain Eoin Morgan tried to go for a big one and ended up completely mistiming it. The ball went towards the short third-man / backward point region and it felt like it would be grabbed by one of the two fielders who were running to grab it.
However, what happened next was unfortunate for Virat Kohli and the team as they watched the ball drop. The duo did not communicate with each other and cost the wicket as it landed in the gap, between short third man and backward point. Meanwhile, Harshal Patel had the last laugh as he removed the batsman two balls later. With this, he has reclaimed the purple cap too. And, later, they won the match convincingly by 38 runs.

Morgan tried to get out but Chahal & Siraj missed the catch, so on the very next ball he give an easy catch to Kohli.
